At the end of 2015 I crocheted some woolly hats for the big knit, a joint campaign between Age UK and innocent drinks that helps vulnerable older people. Every time innocent sells a little bottle of drink wearing a hat, they donate 25p to Age UK to help keep older people warm and well over winter. Since 2003 they’ve raised an astonishing £1.9m from the 6 million hats that have been sent – incredible!
At the time, I was such a novice that I couldn’t even follow the basic pattern on innocent’s website, but I gave it another go earlier this month and was delighted at how easy I now found it. It’s so nice to see just how much I’ve progressed in the last 13 months, so much so, I was even designing my own patterns by the end of the day!
These little hats are really quick to make and are a great yarn stash buster.
