It seems that spring is finally arriving and as the temperature is set to rise, my mind has naturally turned to making another blanket!
The A Spicier Life CAL pattern, published last year, was written by Sandra Paul (aka Cherry Heart) for Black Sheep Wools. I’d already bought a Jaipur yarn pack from Black Sheep Wools at last year’s Knitting and Stitching Show, but I’d planned on making a different blanket with it. I had a rethink and decided to stick with the original CAL pattern.
So far, I’m really enjoying making it. With the rows being shorter than the moorland blanket that I made last year, and with the combination of different stitches being used, it’s really keeping my interest. I did get a little bit bored making the moorland blanket, repeating the same stitches over and over again. But this one is like doing a crochet sampler, where I’m getting to try out lots of different stitches.
Like most of you, I have several projects on the go at the same time, but rather than rushing to finish the six parts as quickly as I can, I’m going to make this around the other things that I’m working on. I’m guessing that I’ll finish it just in time for summer. Perfect!
