Just a quick post about my latest make. My sister celebrated her birthday last week. She is a big fan of the Anne of Green Gables series of books, so I wanted to see if I could find her something related to the book, which she might not already have.
I searched online and, amongst other things, found a few places selling Anne of Green Gables fabric. Most of the stores were based in the US, which made the postage prohibitive. Then I found one in the UK, The Homemakery, based in Wisbech, in Cambridgeshire.
They were selling a few different designs, but I chose one that had different quotes on it.
My sewing skills are pretty limited, so I decided to make a simple envelope cushion cover (easier than having to put a zip in it!).
I’m pretty pleased with it and my sister likes it, which is the main thing.
And in these surreal times, to quote L.M. Montgomery:
“If you can’t be cheerful, be as cheerful as you can.”
❤ To say I like this cushion is a massive understatement! Anne Shirley Cuthbert Blythe will always be my ultimate poster girl for positivity , and in the current maelstrom that surrounds us I shall put my head on my cushion and read.❤
