I’ve completed another upcycling project.
I had a few wooden coat hangers at home that I couldn’t use because the ends dug into my tops too much and misshaped them. I didn’t want to throw them away because they’re so much stronger than the horrible plastic ones you get, so I decided to prettify them instead.
I bought some wadding online for around £3.50. I wound strips (approximately 3cm wide) around each hanger. The texture of the wadding enabled the strips to stay in place without me having to secure them.
I then crocheted a rectangular cover and attached it over the hook, sewing up the ends and crocheting along the long seam.
I added a flower to finish it off.
I’ve since completed another two hangers and I have a few more still to do.
As well as putting something back into everyday use, it’s a great stash buster.
