Eryngium and toadflax wreath

Another wreath experiment

I’ve had the urge to make another wreath. Lots of purple toadflax has sprung up in the garden this year, and I wanted to see if the stems would work as a wreath base. The answer is ‘not really’ because they’re not flexible enough, but I was able to hold them in place with some florists’ wire.

I added some of my beloved eryngium, which I am delighted to see flowering again this year. I like the contrast of the bright green with the purple. The wreath won’t last long, but it’s good to experiment with the different plants in my garden to see what does and doesn’t work.
