I managed to keep up with the Winter Berries Blanket CAL, I just didn’t get round to posting a picture after I finished making it. To be fair, I’ve been busy decorating my bedroom, so I haven’t had a great deal of spare time!

The suggested colour palette was a bit bold for my taste, so I went for a softer one using Hayfield Soft Twist DK in mink, salmon, silver, ivory, fern, bronze and copper.

It was a spur-of-the-moment decision to join this CAL and, on reflection, I wish I’d thought a bit more about it and chosen colours more in keeping with my soon-to-be-decorated room. I have, however, already seen a pattern for another blanket that I would like to make!

The first blanket I made was quite large and had a single repeating stitch pattern, which I got very bored with very quickly. But like the A Spicier Life CAL, this pattern uses different stitches, so it kept my interest. The rows weren’t too long either, so I kept up by completing a few each day.

It’s been a while since I’ve picked up my hooks so it was lovely to do some crochet again.
