I don’t seem to have done much Christmas crafting this year. Last year I took so much inspiration from the crafters who appeared on Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas and was bursting with ideas for things that I wanted to make. It didn’t have the same effect on me this year and, what with one thing and another, I just don’t feel very festive at the moment.
With no hope of a holiday this year, I knew that I’d need to find something else to do to occupy my time. I’ve thought about turning one of the bedrooms into a craft room for a while, but the enormity of decorating it has put me off doing anything about it until now.
The Norfolk Makers’ Festival is a free annual event for all ages. There are talks, exhibitions, demonstrations and hands-on activities, many of which are free to join in. Having created my first Christmas wreath, mostly from bits that were about to go in my green bin, I am now obsessed with keeping any garden waste that might be suitable to use.
