Another finished project (sort of)

It’s taken a while for me to finish my craft room.

Christmas makes 2020

I don’t seem to have done much Christmas crafting this year. Last year I took so much inspiration from the crafters who appeared on Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas and was bursting with ideas for things that I wanted to make. It didn’t have the same effect on me this year and, what with one thing and another, I just don’t feel very festive at the moment.

Current work in progress – my new craft room!

With no hope of a holiday this year, I knew that I’d need to find something else to do to occupy my time. I’ve thought about turning one of the bedrooms into a craft room for a while, but the enormity of decorating it has put me off doing anything about it until now.

The Norfolk Makers’ Festival 2020

The Norfolk Makers’ Festival is a free annual event for all ages. There are talks, exhibitions, demonstrations and hands-on activities, many of which are free to join in. There are also paid workshops that you can sign up for and lots of fringe events taking place across the county.

I love all the crafting opportunities that Christmas brings, and this year, for a change, I was organised and started my projects early.

Summer wreaths

I can’t stop making wreaths.

Having created my first Christmas wreath, mostly from bits that were about to go in my green bin, I am now obsessed with keeping any garden waste that might be suitable to use. The garden shed is full of poppy heads, Chinese lanterns, and pinecones that I’ve picked up while I’ve been out and about. 

Norfolk Makers’ Festival

I had a lovely day yesterday in sunny Norwich, at the Norfolk Makers’ Festival. It’s been running at The Forum for the last two weeks, but it had only just come to my attention when I saw one of the displays featured on television.

My Christmas Wreath

I’ve been experimenting this week with a craft that’s new to me – wreath making, and not of the woolly variety.
