Look, I’m sorry if I sound like a broken record, but this was yet another kit with dreadful instructions and with pieces missing.

UFO number four completed

My fourth UFO for 2021. As with so many of my kits, I bought this at one of the Knitting and Stitching shows. I get a little over-enthusiastic at these shows, wanting to buy lots of new things to try. I like kits because they’re a gateway into trying a new craft without having to invest too much in case you don’t like it.

I really didn’t enjoy making this.

First wreath of the year

I haven’t made any wreaths for quite a while, and as my Christmas tree decoration was still hanging up on display outside, I thought it was high time that I replaced it with something new.

Another side project

Motivated by my last project, I immediately started another embroidery.

Inspiration comes from all sorts of places. I received this pretty card on my birthday recently. The design (by Emma Grant) is so lovely and delicate, and it struck me as something that I could try and replicate using some of my craft stash.

Little things

It’s all been a bit quiet on the crafting front lately because I’ve been decorating again, this time the spare room, which is a bit of a dumping ground for anything and everything. All of the things that were in this room had to go in my craft room so it became a bit of an obstacle course trying to get to anything.

The Big Knit is back and I’ve been creating little hats for this year’s campaign.

So I worked out why I never completed this kit – one of the coloured threads was missing. Grr. It’s ended up being a very light brown coloured robin.

I enjoyed making this. I don’t do enough embroidery, but when I do, I’m always motivated to do more.
