Crown to Catwalk

One of the things that I used to enjoy most about visiting the Knitting and Stitching Shows was seeing the work on display in the textile galleries. Even in pre-Covid times, the shows got too busy for me so I stopped going, preferring to look out for smaller exhibitions instead. When I saw that the Royal School of Needlework was holding a 150th-anniversary show at the Fashion and Textile Museum in London, I knew that it would be something I would enjoy.

A winter wreath

One of my favourite makes from this year was the spring wreath (more on that later). Since making it, I’ve had lots of ideas buzzing around my head about creating wreaths for other occasions. Inspired by the winter wreath, made by Lucy from Attic 24, I’ve come up with my own version, which I’ve made as a gift for my aunt and uncle.  Continue reading

Fabric, Fields and French Knots

On one of the last sunny days of summer I visited the Museum of East Anglian Life in Stowmarket, Suffolk. I had visited once before and loved it because it’s full of local history, with lots of old buildings and open space to explore.
