Christmas projects 2022

Here’s a little round-up of all of my Christmas crafting.

An autumn wreath

Work has been crazily busy this year, so I haven’t had as much energy, or motivation, to do much making. However, with all of the never-ending depressing news, I’ve recently felt the need to turn to crafting for some much-needed escapism.

A Valentine’s wreath

My garden shed has somewhat been taken over by flowers that I cut for drying last summer. I had two trays of nigella pods, which I couldn’t bear to get rid of, so I decided to make another wreath.

Winter wreaths 2021

I spent a couple of days last week making winter wreaths. It was mild enough for me to work outside, which meant I didn’t need to worry about being a bit messy!

Autumn wreath 2021

It won’t be long until I start making my winter wreaths, but in the meantime, I spent a couple of lovely afternoons recently making another autumn wreath. 

Another day, another wreath

I made one of these nigella wreaths last year and loved it. I keep it in my craft room because I don’t want it to get damaged by the elements and it’s still looking pretty good one year on.

First wreath of the year

I haven’t made any wreaths for quite a while, and as my Christmas tree decoration was still hanging up on display outside, I thought it was high time that I replaced it with something new.

Christmas makes 2020

I don’t seem to have done much Christmas crafting this year. Last year I took so much inspiration from the crafters who appeared on Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas and was bursting with ideas for things that I wanted to make. It didn’t have the same effect on me this year and, what with one thing and another, I just don’t feel very festive at the moment.

Five green rings

Ever since I started making wreaths a couple of years ago, I’ve been on the lookout for bits that I can use to decorate them. Earlier in the year, I came across a large branch that had fallen off a willow tree. I’d heard that willow was great to use in wreaths, so I collected some of the fallen strands to make this year’s Christmas wreath bases.

Another month, another wreath. This one has been made out of plants from my garden, or from things that I’ve found while out on a walk.
